Marketing Specialist

Location: Franklin County

We are a Medicare-certified, ACHC accredited agency delivering a wide range of home health and outpatient services. We provide an individual plans of care in patient's home, including assisted and independent living facilities.

THE POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The Marketing Specialist provides support to the Director of Marketing and Director of Communications & Branding by performing marketing and sales activities on a day-to-day basis, including patient onboarding tasks, attending meetings with referral sources and accounts, and preparing marketing and sales materials.

THE POSITION SUMMARY:

1.     2+ years of progressive experience in health care management, marketing and sales with demonstrated success in increasing census, admissions and referrals in prior work setting or equivalent employment as determined by the CEO; at least one year of experience in home health marketing.

2.     Demonstrated understanding of home health admission criteria, ancillary and adjacent industry activities such as durable medical equipment, hospital, SNF, ALF/ILF and medical clinic operations, and Federal and state anti-kickback regulations and STARK laws.

3.     Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams and prior experience utilizing electronic health records and client-relationship management SaaS programs. Proficiency in Kinnser® (or Agency approved EMR) reporting and understands basic OBQI/OBQM reporting data.

4.     Basic understanding of financial data such as operating budgets, profit and loss statements or pro forma financials.

5.     Ability to stay focused and organized in high-paced work environment with minimal oversight on a day-to-day basis.

6.     Ability to travel (access to reliable transportation and available time) to and within Agency’s geographic service area.

JOB DUTIES:

1.     Jointly responsible as relationship manager for assigned facilities, including development of substantive connection with facility administrators, directors of nursing, activities coordinators and social workers, among others.

2.     Jointly responsible for marketing and sales activities for assigned territories, including development of marketing plans, viability studies and profit and loss analysis in connection with hospitals, acute care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living facilities located in assigned geographic territories.

3.     Jointly responsible for the Agency’s referral and intake process, including patient pre- and post- admission workup, including but not limited to:

a.     Completion of Agency referral and intake forms;

b.     Verification of insurance and common working files;

c.     Verification of home health qualifications, including secondary review of the Agency’s criteria for admission such as homebound status, medical reasonability/necessity for services ordered, need for ancillary services and equipment, face-to-face physician encounters, among others;

d.     Data entry into the Agency’s electronic health records as pending admissions and proper communication to Agency’s administrative staff on pending admissions;

e.     Creation of Agency internal data collection forms, including post-admission data such as 485/Plan of Care goals worksheets, therapy utilization calculations, OASIS ADL scores, and patient profitability indices.

f.      Assistance in obtaining correct patient information as it pertains to RCD, Face to face and Medicare regulations

4.     Jointly responsible for appropriate follow up with existing patient census and recently discharged patients, including:

a.     Pre-admission contact with patient and caregivers;

b.     60-90 day follow up telephone calls with Agency patients monthly;

c.     Review of hospitalization lists and appropriate follow up with active patients in acute stay;

Creation and management of transfer discharge patients and expired patient lists (deaths);

e.     Review, posting and data submission of CAHPS survey data and Agency internal patient satisfaction surveys;

f.      Follow up reports to clinicians on patient satisfaction surveys.

5.     Primarily responsible for timely acquisition of physician orders, including 485/Plans of Care, initial evaluations, verbal orders, therapy evaluations and reassessments, among other clinical documentation requiring reviewing physician, physician assistant and certified nurse practitioner signatures.

 

6.     Assist the CEO with joint venture and strategic partnership activities on an as needed basis.

 

7.     Assist other marketing staff with event planning and continuing education events for referral sources, patients, clinical staff and caregivers.

 

8.     Jointly responsible for submission of content for print and social media information, including information and ideas for the Agency’s website, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts, if applicable.

 

9.     Jointly responsible for management of the Agency’s Contact Relationship Management program (CRM- PowerApp), if applicable, including:

a.     Daily data input of contacts with referral sources;

b.     Monthly and quarterly updates on contact referral information, including full names (first name, last name) of key personnel at referral sources, position (job titles), physician PECOS registration and licensure verifications;

c.     The creation, development and submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports covering referrals, admissions, payor source mix, year-to-date and past monthly and quarterly comparisons, and recertification and discharge rates.

10.  Provide input to the Administrator and Director of Nursing and Director of Rehabilitation with staffing decisions based on census and referral source patterns as needed.

 

11.  Jointly responsible for compliance with Federal and State Anti-Kickback Statutes and STARK regulations, including preparation of marketing cost reports for referral activities.

 

Jointly responsible for providing feedback and information in connection with annual marketing budget and preparation of budget-to-actual reports on a quarterly basis for the Agency’s Governing Authority.
